Biography
Dorothy Colvin Howell attended Louisiana Normal School (now
Northwestern State University of Louisiana) in 1938 and enrolled in
the Home Economics Program at LSU from 1939-1942, completing her
internship in the Helen Carter House. She then received her graduate
degree in Agriculture Industry at LSU, where she had a fellowship.
After working for years as a teacher, she returned to LSU to teach
in 1962 and retired in 1983 as Assistant Director of the School of
Home Economics.
Howell's interview is housed in the T. Harry Williams Center for
Oral History at LSU Libraries Special Collections.
