LSU Libraries
Friends of the LSU Libraries is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to raise funds in support of acquiring collections for LSU Libraries that could not have been purchased otherwise. The Friends of the LSU Libraries was formed on April 7, 1962, and has supported the LSU Libraries for more than six decades. They are perhaps best known for their annual Friends of the LSU Libraries Book Bazaar, with thousands of books of every kind for sale.
Through the generosity of our Friends, we have been able to acquire of a wide variety of materials in many subject areas.
The Book Barn's regular hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Each spring, the Friends of the LSU Libraries holds its annual Book Bazaar. Volunteers at the Book Barn prepare for the Book Bazaar year round, receiving donations, and sorting and pricing books, to prepare for the popular annual event with more than 70,000 books of all kinds. The annual Book Bazaar offers thousands of books of every genre— many priced as low as 50 cents to one dollar. The Collectors' Area has rare and valuable books, and each year, the Book Bazaar attracts book collectors and book lovers of all ages and from all over.
