Current LSU faculty, staff, and students should present their TigerCard at the time of checkout. Public patrons should use their designated public patron card, usually their driver's license or state-issued ID. The library cannot accept alternate forms of ID, such as your 89 number, other ID cards, etc.

There are two ways to locate print books in the library's collection:
- Print books are searchable in the LSU Libraries catalog (https://lsu.ent.sirsi.net/client/en_US/lsu/?rm=MORE+SEARCH+OP0%7C%7C%7C…) . To find books on a certain topic, you can either search for the topic as a keyword, or use the advanced search to look for subject tags.
- Print books can also be found searching the library's Discovery (https://www.lib.lsu.edu/) search tool, the default search box on the library's homepage. It searches across many of the library's databases and the catalog.

A pencil, paper for notetaking, and personal devices (e.g. laptop, tablet, cellphone, camera) are allowed in the Reading Room. Food, drinks, pens, and portable scanners are not allowed. All personal items such as bags (including laptop and camera cases), briefcases, purses, coats, and umbrellas must be left in one of the secure lockers that are provided free of charge in the lobby. Be aware that anything brought into the Reading Room is subject to search before you leave. Review our Reading Room Policies:https://lib.lsu.edu/special#specialcollectionpolicies

If you are having trouble with a laptop that you borrowed from the library, you will need to return it as soon as possible. We will need to send it to ITS so that they can evaluate the device. ITS does not recommend using physically damaged laptops as they are unstable. They may malfunction and prevent you from accessing your files or doing required coursework.
