Billy Heroman

William J. “Billy” Heroman was born in Baton Rouge in 1923 and began attending LSU in 1941. Like many of his classmates, he enlisted in the U.S. Army after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was deployed to Italy in 1942, serving with the Army’s 99th Infantry Division. He took part in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. Heroman is best known as the owner/founder of several florist shops in Baton Rouge, the first of which he opened with his wife, Janet, in 1955. Today, the business is the largest floral business in Louisiana.
