Scott Purdy: What did that championship mean to you personally? Was that a crowning achievement or was that . . . How do you remember that?
Carl Maddox: It’s . . . I remember it as one of the . . . one of the biggest things in my life. And actually it becomes bigger as the years go on. It's bigger now then it was when it happened. I wouldn't take anything for it. It was a tremendous experience. National championships are awful hard to come by. So I've been very proud of it. It's one of the great memories of my life.
Purdy: What do you think it meant to the players?
Maddox: Well, I'm sure that it gave all of them a sense of pride and endeared LSU to them.
