JACK FISER: Well tell me how this got over into the television field. First, the station, as I understand, came [?] because the money ran out.
LUCILE WOODARD: That's right. That's right. After ten years. It was established in 1947, and in 1957, the funds for the university were cut drastically. To keep the academic departments of the university afloat, the extras of the side things had to be cut off. The radio station was one of those victims at that time in 1957. LSU didn't just drop out of the whole interest because we then cooperated with commercial stations, radio and television stations, to produce programs for commercial stations.
