Services for Users with Disabilities

LSU Libraries is committed to providing services to users with disabilities.  Staff members are available to assist users with their informational needs. Facilities for users with disabilities are on the first floor of Middleton Library and are provided by both the LSU Libraries and Information Technology Services.

Consultation Room

Users have access to the Consultation Room in Middleton 141 during the hours the Research & Instruction Services desk is staffed.  

This room has the following features:

  • Computer with 20” monitor for dedicated use of users with visual disabilities
  • Software:
    • Duxbury (DBT): Braille software
    • FS Reader
    • JAWS for Windows: Screen reading
    • MAGic
    • MAGic EyeMerge
  • Windowless room with ability to darken as needed
  • Scanner
  • Index Everest Braille Printer
  • Perkins Brailler: Braille typewriter
  • CCTV enlarger: Document magnification
  • Large print keyboard
  • Trackball mouse
  • Wheelchair accessible

Middleton Library Computer Lab
