Instructions to configure work computer to log in from home using Remote Desktop Connection, included in Windows XP.
A computer running
A second computer ("home" computer) with Internet access to the Local Area Network This computer must have Windows XP Pro or the Remote Desktop Connection client, formerly called the Terminal Services client, installed.
NOTE: You need to be an administrator on your computer to set up the work PC. Please call Systems to perform these functions if you've tried and failed. Administrators Group user: Make sure the user is a member of the Remote Desktop Users group.
Control Panel > User Accounts > Advanced tab > Advanced user management section > click Advanced
In (Local) Users and Groups, double-click the Groups folder > double-click Remote Desktop Users group
Click the Add button, type in the user name. Click the Advanced button to browse for the user on the domain.
Click Apply and close all the windows populated from the User Accounts icon.
Restart the computer if necessary.

If you have Windows XP Pro on your home PC:
On the Local Resources tab, Under Local devices, click Disk drives, click Printers..
If you have any other version of Windows (Windows 95, Windows 98 and 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows NTŪ 4.0, or Windows 2000) on your home PC:
