Requesting An Account
All LSU Libraries employees, including Graduate Assistants, are required to have and read mail from a Lotus Notes or PAWS account. A request for a Lotus Notes account can be submitted via the New Staff Account Request Form. Plea se submit the request before the new staff member begins work.
Your Notes Account
Each Notes account is on a particular Notes server. Your number is listed on the Mail icon on your Notes Desktop. You can also look it up in your entry in the LSU Address Book.Top
- Learn your number: (e.g.) mail141
- Each server has subfolders or directories: mail14
- Your account is within that directory: nmartin1
Getting Access To Additional Services
A few people need access to additional Lotus Notes applications such as Electronic Reserves processing or the Digital Libraries. Nancy can help provide the appropriate information.

- Changing your password
- Forgotten password - If you forget your Lotus Notes password, you can call REGGIE, enter your REGGIE PIN, and go through the menus to set a new one. One of us in Library Systems can reinstate your original ID file and original password. Ho wever, if you have chosen for any files or messages to be encrypted, you will not be able to access them.
Problems Logging In
There are several areas which may be problems keeping you from logging in:Whether you call the Help Desk or one of us, please note the exact message or problem so we can try to report the correct problem to the correct parties.
- Campus network problems, so you cannot reach your Notes server
- Your server may be up, but your directory may be full or have other problems
- Your mail file may be full or have problems
