Biographical/Historical Note

Helene Boucry married Jean Phillipe Boucry (d. 1835) on December 29, 1835. They were owners of Bonne Esperence Plantation in St. James Parish.

Scope and Content Note

Primarily record books of Helene Boucry that list genealogical and financial data. Volume 1 (author unknown) includes a register of livestock brands, annual statements of accounts for crops and livestock, records of expenditures for labor, planting, equipment, and merchandise, records of wood cut, and notes on bakery employees.

Entries by Helene Boucry (volumes 2-3) record genealogical data of the Boucry and related families,expenditures for food, clothing, and education, payments made to freedmen for grinding sugar, and accounts with merchants.
