Papers of Rear Admiral (Naval Reserve) Ernest Lee Jahncke (1877-1960), assistant secretary of the Navy during the Herbert Hoover administration (1929-1933), graduate of Tulane University, president of Jahncke Interests, New Orleans, first executive director of the Louisiana State Department of Commerce and Industry (1937-1941), administrator of Tulane University Educational Fund, and one of the South’s leading yachtsmen and prominent clubman.
