Captain George Ulrick lived in Washington, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains business and personal correspondence and statements of accounts for merchandise. Letters, in French, from correspondents in Le Havre, France, to Ulrick in New Orleans discuss, among other things, shipments of goods (e.g., wine), the conditions of vineyards in France, the economy, the loss of the SS Heidelberg, and the death of Napoleon's uncle, Jerome Bonaparte. Other letters mention the cotton market in New Orleans, wine business in France, and Ulrick's personal business affairs.
