The Andrei Codrescu Collection of Outsider Literature

Since immigrating to the United States in 1966, the Romanian-born Codrescu has published more than 30 books, ranging from poetry and Gothic novels to social commentary. The founder and editor of Exquisite Corpse, a journal of books and ideas, Codrescu was a professor of English at Louisiana State University from 1984 until his retirement in 2009. In 1985, he donated his personal papers and manuscripts to LSU. This gift has been followed by more than 5,000 volumes of contemporary fiction and poetry, many of which are ephemeral in nature or were published by small presses.
