Support the interdivisional activities that promote access to psychologists?

8. Division 40 Liaison to the APA Committee on Women
A Division 40 member will serve as Liaison between the Division
and the APA Committee on Women, to
address the concerns of this Committee as they apply to Division
40 members.
9. Division 40 Liaison to the APA Committee on Gay, Lesbian
and Bisexual Concerns
A Division 40 member will serve as Liaison between the Division
and the APA Committee on Gay, Lesbian and
Bisexual Concerns, to address the concerns of this Committee
as they apply to Division 40 members.
IV. Former Special Committees/Task Forces
A. Special Committees, including Task Forces, are reviewed at least
every three years to assess their need for
continuation.
B. The Special Committees and Task Forces can be resurrected at a later
time when a need arises.
C. The following Special Committees and Task Forces have been disconvened:
1. Bylaws Revisions Task Force
a. The Bylaws Revisions Committee was charged
with the task of keeping the Bylaws current with the
functional operation of Division 40.
b. The President-Elect served as Chair of
this Committee and appointed at least four others from the
Membership, of which at least two must have
had past/current Executive Committee experience, one must
have been the current Division 40 Secretary
and the fourth must have had experience in bylaws revisions.
c. Any Bylaws Revisions were sent to the Secretary
for dissemination to the Executive Committee for review
and approval at the next regularly scheduled
Executive Committee Meeting.
d. With the approval of the Executive Committee,
the Bylaws Revisions Chair submitted a final report to the
Secretary for dissemination to the Membership,
via mail ballot, for approval at least two months before the
Annual Business Meeting.
e. The Secretary compiled the results of the
mail ballot for presentation at the Division 40 Annual Business
Meeting of the Annual APA Convention. A two-thirds
majority of returned mail ballots was necessary for
passage. 35
f. The Bylaws Revisions Committee, in conjunction
with the Newsletter Editor, prepared an appropriate
report for Newsletter 40.
g. Upon completion of the task, the Bylaws
Revision Committee was disconvened in 1997, as the current
bylaw revision was passed 901 to 67, to be
reconvened again when needed.36
2. Task Force on Training, Education, & Credentialing
a. This Task Force had the following charges:
b. To facilitate the universal standards mission
of Division 40 in regard to Training, Education, and
Credentialing.
c. To communicate with other organizations
representing the interests of Neuropsychology and the public.
d. To promote the following goals:
Goal 1:Serve
as liaisons to other recognized organizations that promote Clinical Neuropsychology,
such as
the National
Academy of Neuropsychology and the International Neuropsychology Society.
Goal 2:
Improve collegiality within the neuropsychological organizational community.
Goal 3:
Work together for common purposes.
Goal 4:
Serve as liaisons to all state and professional regulatory boards, such
as state licensing boards and
national
credentialing boards.
Goal 5:
Promote universal licensing, credentialing, and regulatory standards for
Clinical Neuropsychology
at both
the entry and diplomate levels.
Goal 6:
Develop, along with the Education Advisory, on-going position statements
concerning graduate
