Goal 3: Serve as liaisons to other professions and the general public
in this regard.
5. Ethics Committee
a. To review the ethics code of
the American Psychological Association with special focus on issues
pertinent to Clinical Neuropsychology.
b. To develop an ethics-related
program submission sponsored by Division 40 for the Annual APA
Convention.
c. To establish a column in the
Newsletter 40 which may include questions, letters, or articles on ethical
issues.
d. To serve in an advisory capacity
for Members with questions regarding ethical issues such as: Third
party observations and The assessment
of Non-English speaking clients. 23
6. Minority Affairs Committee
a. To increase Membership and
active participation of ethnic minority clinical neuropsychologists and
students-in-training in Division
40 activities.
b. To liaison with other Division
40 Committees to increase the number and types of workshops,
symposia/presentations, and Continuing
Education programs focusing on ethnic minorities, and to
actively support such programs
for all annual and/or other official Division 40 meetings.
c. To define and strengthen the
relationships between the Committee and the APA Board of Ethnic
Minority Affairs (BEMA).
d. To develop a mechanism for
ongoing sharing of ethnic minority related research findings, clinical
approaches, and training information
by networking with other APA Ethnic Minority/Cross-Cultural
Committees, and Minority Training
Programs.
e. To compile and distribute a
Resource Directory of Committee Members and self identified supporters.
7. Awards Committee
a. The Awards Committee will be
responsible for either nominating or processing the nominations
received from the Membership for
the various awards offered each year by the American
Psychological Foundation in conjunction
with Division 40.
b. The Awards Committee will consider
the awards nominations and recommend the potential awards
recipients to the American Psychological
Foundation, which will make the final selections.
c. Should the APF not do so, the
Awards Committee, with the assistance of the Treasurer, will execute
appropriate plaques, etc., for
presentation at the Annual Division 40 General Business Meeting and/or
other appropriate occasions (e.g.,
receptions, dinners, invited addresses, etc.) at the Annual APA
Convention.
d. The Awards Committee will give
the names of the Awards winners to the Chair of the Program
Committee so that appropriate
arrangements to honor the winners can be made.
e. The President will inform all
awards recipients of their selections and will invite them to the
appropriate Division 40 activities
for recognition.
