methods and concepts of neuropsychology to the study of clinical phenomenon.

which the primary emphasis is the elucidate neurocognitive ability or mechanism
in a non-clinical setting. 21

d. To promote the following goals:
Goal 1: Promote
the scientific study of brain-behavior relationships and the application
of such
knowledge.
Goal 2: Promote
the recognition of Clinical Neuropsychology as a science division within
APA.
Goal 3: Improve
collegiality within the neuropsychological scientific community.
Goal 4: Promote
student research in the neuropsychology and the neurosciences.
2. Education Advisory Committee
a. To facilitate the education mission of Division
40.
b. To communicate with other professions as well
as other psychologists
c. To promote the following goals:
Goal 1: Promote
the teaching of brain-behavior relationships and the application of such
knowledge.
Goal 2: Promote
the recognition of Clinical Neuropsychology as an academic division within
APA.
Goal 3: Improve
collegiality within the neuropsychological educational community.
Goal 4: Promote
universal academic standards in the education and training of clinical
neuropsychologists.
Goal 5: Promote
clinical externships, internships, residencies, and post-doctoral training
experiences in
the neurosciences
and neuropsychology.
Goal 6: Formulate
and recommend policy concerning graduate education and training in Clinical
Neuropsychology,
particularly as it is related to the practice of Clinical Neuropsychology.
Goal 7: Develop,
along with any currently appointed Task Force on Training, Education, and
Credentialing,
on-going position statements concerning graduate education and training
on
behalf of Division
40. All recommended policy and position statements, however, must be
submitted to
the Executive Committee for review and approval, in accordance with the
Bylaws
of Division
40, before any professional or public dissemination.
Goal 8: Broadly
monitor activities and trends in graduate education and training and serve
in an
advisory capacity
on these mailers to the Division 40 Elected Officers and Executive
Committee.
d. The Committee Chair may serve in an observer/liaison
role with respect to other organizations and units
of the APA governance concerned with graduation,
education, and training.
3. Practice Advisory Committee
a. To facilitate the clinical practice mission of
Division 40.
b. To communicate with other professions as well
as other psychologists.
c. To promote the following goals:
Goal 1: Promote
the clinical understanding of brain-behavior relationships and the scientific
basis of
such knowledge.
Goal 2: Promote
the recognition of Clinical Neuropsychology as a practice division within
APA.
Goal 3: Improve
collegiality within the neuropsychological practice community.
Goal 4: Promote
clinical externships, internships, residencies, and post-doctoral training
experiences in
the neurosciences
and neuropsychology.
4. Public Interest Advisory Committee
a. To facilitate the public education mission of
Division 40.
b. To communicate with other professions, psychologists,
and the public. 22
c. To promote the following goals:
Goal 1: Promote
the general awareness of the scientific study and clinical application
of brain-
behavior relationships.
Goal 2: Develop
printed materials for other professions and the general public as to the
above.
