Division 40 Program Highlights in LA
This year's Division 40 program features three symposia, six paper sessions,
two poster sessions, and presidential and invited addresses on Friday,
8/23, Saturday, 8/24, Sunday, 8/25, and Monday, 8/26/85. The Division will
concentrate its activities on Sunday, August 25 with invited addresses,
the presidential address, business meeting, social hour, and a large number
of presentations. Every effort has been made to prevent conflict with programs
of interest to Division 40 members which are presented by other divisions.
All papers this year are organized into topical categories, including
the poster sessions. Symposia topics include employability after head injury
(chaired by George Prigitano), neuropsychology of systemic disease (chaired
by Gerald Goldstein), and language disorders in pre-schoolers (chaired
by Barbara Wilson). Paper and poster sessions will focus on sequelae of
head injury, lateralization of cognitive functions, neuropsychological
patterns and interventions, cognitive changes in psychiatric disorders,
neuropsychological changes in diseases and syndromes, popular issues, and
child neuropsychology.
There will be invited speakers this year: Paul Satz (Recovery from
Early Brain Damage: Some Facts and Reflections) and Jeffrey Cummings (Cortical
versus Subcortical Contributions to the Syndrome of Dementia). Larry Hartlage
will talk on Emerging Trends in Clinical Neuropsychology in his presiden-tial
address.
The Division Program Committee included Linus Bieliauskas (chairman),
Kathy Haaland, Polly Henninger, Harvey Levin, and Robert Wilson.
