As you know, the celebration of 50 years of APA Divisions will begin at the upcoming convention in Toronto and culminate at the convention in Chicago in 1997. The APA Board of Directors has appointed a Commission (Jean Carter, Chair; Sam Cameron; Tom Miller;Don Freedheim;and Sarah Jordan,staff) to coordinate the celebration. The Commission met recently with staff from APA to begin planning for the coming year. In addition to the convention programs, we will have a series of columns in the Monitor devoted to the work of Divisions. Also, Divisions will have an opportunity to honor their leadership, record historical activities, and highlight their roles in APA at the meetings in Chicago.
I am the liaison to your Division and will be working with you throughout the year in developing programs, written materials, events, souvenirs, and any other activities which would call attention to the work of your Division to the membership of the Association. For the most part, I will be working with your Division Representative to the Commission, who is named below.
If you have not identified a Representative, please do so, and let me know. We are creating stationery and other materials for the anniversary,and want 100% representation by Divisions.
Although the major communication regarding the celebrations will be
done through the Representative, please feel free to write or to contact
