MEMORANDUM

TO: Division Journal Editors Lee Cron, P&C Board Liaison to Division Journal

SUBJECT: (1) Annual Reports
                  (2) P&C Board Policy on Division Journals
                  (3) Distribution of Journals

It is again the time of year when in my role as the Publications and Communication Board's liaison to division journal editors, I ask for, receive, and tabulate annual report data for the P&C Board. The P&C Board appreciates your cooperation, evidenced by the ever-growing data available about the publication process for division journals. The information you provide is of great help in enabling the Board to evaluate from a broader base the state of publishing in psychology. In addition, because of your enhanced reporting, we can better compare publishing activity not only among division journals, but also between division journals and the primary journals. The division journal publishing report will be shared with all divisions publishing journals. This year, as in previous years, I have other pieces of information to gather and exchange, beyond annual report material.

For the first time, a summary table of the information you provide will appear in the 1996 archival issue of the American Psychologist

1. In the past, one or two division journal editors have not realized that they needed to file annual reports with the P&C Board. The Board requests that I continue to remind everyone of this fact by pointing out the relevant APA Bylaw on the subject. Article V, section 9 states:
