RE: Your letter of May 22, 1995

Dear Dr. Berg:
I received your letter of May 22, 1995 and those of Carl Dodrill, dated May 26, 1995, and Sandra Koffler, dated May 3 1, 1995. I feel the development of the Clinical Neuropsychology Synarchy (CNS) is such a delicate process that I am unwilling to take any action that could possibly jeopardize the successful completion of its germinal stage.

As previously explained, during this formative period, participation in the CNS meetings is by my invitation only. There are several groups with an interest in clinical neuropsychology, like your own, that are not, or perhaps cannot be, recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA). If and when the CNS comes into existence, it then will be the CNS and not me to decide what other groups can be considered for a participatory role. This decision may rest on unanimous consent or some rule (e.g., 2/3rds) other than a simple majority vote.

As a professional courtesy I have posted your group's request on the agenda for the next meeting. At this time I feel I can go no further than this.

Sincerely,

Kerry Hamsher, Ph.D.
