DIVISION OF REHABILITATION PSYCHOLOGY
DIVISION 22, AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION
Division 40 Members
American Psychology Association
Dear Colleague:
I am writing to you as a member of Division 40 (Neuropsychology) and as a member of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology).Over the last seven years, Division 22 has taken a strong position in increasing awareness of the needs and services forchildren in rehabilitation. Obviously, this involves children with many neurological diseases as well as traumas. To this end, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Committee was formed in 1987. Since that time, the members of this committee within Division 22 as well as the children's interest group it represents, have pursued coordinated program presentations, research, and credentialing issues for those working in pediatrics as well as lobbying efforts and legislative testimony concerning pediatric issues.
The Pediatric Committee and Interest Group of Division 22, promotes a cooperative effort among all psychologists providing services to children, especially those with disabilities. To that end, we are working to increase membership in this group as an umbrella organization. This in no way implies a change in your primary division affiliation. However, if you are a provider of services with a specialty in children, we offer an opportunity for you to network with other pediatric psychologists within APA at an annual social hour as well as to be updated and work with coordinated program presentations and research.
If you are currently working with children and/or are interested in children and are not already a member of Division 22, we can now offer you the following opportunity:
1. For a $25 membership fee, you can now affiliate with both the Pediatric Committee and Interest Group of Division 22. This also enrolls you as a full member of Division 22.
2. You are entitled to receive the Journal of Rehabilitation Psychology as well as the quarterly news letter of Division 22.

3. You are also entitled to select one of the following tapes from
the upcoming 1995 APA convention:
a. Invited Address by Dr. Albert Ellis;
b. Sympossium, "Federal Agenda and Rehabilitation Psychology."
I would like to add that Rehabilitation Psychology is a division that appeals to a broad spectrum of psychological service providers who work with adults with disabilities as well. The division is active in health care reform as well as advocacy and other treatment issues. Rehabilitation I believe that Neuropsychology and Psychology have much in generally, common, and both divisions will benefit from your involvement in Division 22.
