Areas of Responsibility
As Instruction Coordinator, I am responsible for the LIS 1001 class as well as other library instruction that is specially requested for individual classes in other disciplines. Additionally, I am responsible for the promotion of library instruction in the larger campus community. In the area of collection development, I am responsible for the English Department collection, covering English and American literature, as well as rhetoric and writing. My job in this regard involves not only purchasing new texts to support the English curriculum, but also the weeding out of material that is unused, out of date, or badly damaged. I am also a reference librarian, responsible for assisting patrons with their research.
