Photographic Processing Archivist
Mark E. Martin obtained his bachelor's degree in History at Western Carolina University. He went on to take his Master's Degree in Library and Information Science with an emphasis on Archival Enterprise with a concentration in Photographic Archives at the University of Texas at Austin. Martin arrived at LSU Libraries - Special Collections in the year 2000 and has been working with photographic materials ever since.
Martin has authored two books, "Andrew D. Lytle, Baton Rouge photographer, 1863 - 1910," and "Historic Photos of Baton Rouge" and co-authored with Barry Cowan "Historic Photos of LSU Football."
Martin is currently researching mid-19th century photographers in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Natchez, Mississippi.
