Job Description
I supervise the acquisition of published materials for the Louisiana & Lower Mississippi Valley Collection and assist in developing the Rare Book and McIlhenny Natural History Collections. As a member of the reference team in Special Collections, I provide outreach and instruction to classes and the general public and develop instructional materials and collection guides. I curate two to four exhibitions per year. Since 2009, I have been a team member of the National Endowment for the Humanities-funded Digitizing Louisiana Newspapers Project, and have written brief histories of more than sixty newspapers for the project. I also write a quarterly column for the Civil War Book Review, highlighting "treasures" from LSU's Special Collections.
