    Full text history reference database covering U.S. and world history. Includes periodical articles, historical documents, historical photos and maps, and biographies of historical figures. Geared primarily towards undergraduate researchers.

  2. General Indexes and Abstracts

    These databases contain citations to literature in history journals as well as in journals covering other disciplines. Some databases are full text.

    Web of Knowledge (some full text)
    Includes the Arts & Humanities Citation Index, which indexes 1,414 of the world's top-tier arts and humanities journals.

    Ingenta (some full text)
    Contains over 19 million citations from more than 29,000 journals covering a range of disciplines. Ingenta allows LSU users to link to the full text of articles in journals to which LSU Libraries has subscription rights.

    JSTOR (full text)
    Interdisciplinary, full text archive of over six hundred journals in the arts, humanities, and the social sciences. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Full text coverage of indexed journals generally begins five years before the current issue.

    PAIS Archive
    The PAIS Archive database is the online version of the PAIS Annual Cumulated Bulletin, Volumes 1-62, published 1915-1976. Providing historical perspectives on many of the 20th century's public and social policies, the PAIS Archive provides references to monographs, periodicals articles, notes and announcements, and analytics.

    PAIS International
    Provides references to more than 553,300 journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, and publications of international agencies. Newspapers and newsletters are not indexed. Some indexed materials are in Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese.

    Project Muse (full text)
    Provides full text access to over 350 top-tier, heavily indexed, and widely held journals in the humanities and social sciences.

      Palmer's Full Text Online 1785-1870
      Provides full text access to articles in the London Times. Full indexes are available for articles published between 1790-1905 and page images for articles published between 1800-1870.

    Documents from the Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention
    Maintained by the Library of Congress, this site contains 277 documents relating to the work of Congress and the drafting and ratification of the Constitution.

    James Madison Papers
    Consisting of approximately 12,000 items captured in 72,000 digital images, the James Madison Papers document the "father of the Constitution" through correspondence, personal notes, drafts of letters, and miscellaneous manuscripts.     George Washington Papers
    The complete George Washington Papers at the Library of Congress consists of around 65,000 documents, including correspondence, letterbooks, commonplace books, journals, military reports, and notes accumulated by Washington from 1741 through 1799.
