Use the DOE Data Explorer (DDE) to find scientific research data - such as computer simulations, numeric data files, figures and plots, interactive maps, multimedia, and scientific images - generated in the course of DOE-sponsored research in various science disciplines. The DOE Data Explorer includes a database of citations prepared by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) based on the information found at data-hosting websites. It is intended to be particularly useful to students, the public, and to researchers who are new to a field or looking for experimental or observational data outside their normal field of expertise.

GEOBASE is a unique bibliographic database covering worldwide research literature in physical and human geography, earth and environmental sciences, ecology, and related disciplines. In addition to providing comprehensive coverage of the core scientific and technical periodicals, Geobase has a unique coverage of non-English language and less readily available publications. Over 2,000 journals are fully covered with an additional 3,000 having partial coverage. Over 2,000 books, monographs, conference proceedings, and reports are also included.
GulfBase - Resource Database for Gulf of Mexico Research
More Information
GulfBase is a database of resources about the Gulf of Mexico. The goal of this website is to regroup, synthesize, and make freely available Gulf of Mexico research information. Our vision is that GulfBase will help researchers, policy makers, and the general public work together to insure long-term sustainable use and conservation of the Gulf of Mexico.
Health & Environmental Research Online (HERO)
More Information
The Health and Environmental Research Online (HERO) database provides an easy way to view the scientific literature behind EPA science assessments.
The database includes more than 300,000 scientific articles from the peer-reviewed literature used by EPA to develop its Integrated Science Assessments (ISA) that feed into the NAAQS review. It also includes references and data from the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS), a database that supports critical agency policymaking for chemical regulation. Risk assessments characterize the nature and magnitude of health risks to humans and the ecosystem from pollutants and chemicals in the environment.
More Information
Offers full-text online news, business, legal, legislative, and regulatory information, updated daily.
Louisiana Coastal Area Homepage
More Information
Louisiana's abundant cypress swamps offer beautiful vistas and provide important habitat for many species of fish and wildlife including bald eagles. Similar to other marsh and swamp habitats in the Louisiana coastal zone, cypress forests are disappearing because of factors such as subsidence, hydrologic alteration, and development pressures such as road construction, flood protection and logging. Cypress trees are long-lived species that grow and regenerate very slowly. Some of the restoration efforts in the LCA Plan are focused on swamp health to improve the quantity and quality of these special wetland forests.
Marine Realms Information Bank
More Information
Access to free online scientific information about oceans, coasts, and coastal watersheds
ScienceResearch.com - The World's Science, All in One Place
More Information
ScienceResearch.com is a free, publicly available deep web search engine that uses advanced "federated search technology" to return high quality results by submitting your search query - in real-time - to other well respected search engines then collating, ranking and dropping duplicates of the results.
Scientific Commons | A Community for Scientific Information
More Information
The major aim of the project is to develop the world's largest communication medium for scientific knowledge products which is freely accessible to the public. A key challenge of the project is to support the rapidly growing number of movements and archives who admit the free distribution and access to scientific knowledge. These are the valuable sources for the ScientificCommons.org project. The ScientificCommons.org project makes it possible to access the largely distributed sources with their vast amount of scientific publications via just one common interface. ScientificCommons.org identifies authors from all archives and makes their social and professional relationships transparent and visible to anyone across disciplinary, institutional and technological boundaries.
