Mission:To enhance and promote overall quality of life in and around the Acadian region. Vision: The Acadiana RC&D Council's vision is to address the social, environmental and economical concerns of South Central Louisiana. Its primary focus is on the conservation, development and utilization of natural resources. The Resource Conservation and Development Program (RC&D) is a voluntary program that helps people protect and develop their economic, natural, and social resources. The program is administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), in cooperation with other USDA agencies. Oceana, founded in 2001, is the largest international organization focused solely on ocean conservation. Our offices in North America, Central America, South America and Europe work together on a limited number of strategic, directed campaigns to achieve measurable outcomes that will help return our oceans to former levels of abundance. We believe in the importance of science in identifying problems and solutions. Our scientists work closely with our teams of economists, lawyers and advocates to achieve tangible results for the oceans.

SERPENT: Deep sea research using ROVs.
More Information
The oceans of the world are a vast, alien landscape, covering more than half the Earth's surface. It is the last great frontier on our planet and the SERPENT project is exploring this exciting undersea environment in a unique and innovative deep sea adventure.
It is only through the generous help of offshore oil and gas companies and their highly skilled ROV teams that SERPENT can undertake this vital work. These dedicated professionals are helping us to push the boundaries of deep sea research, and contributing to our growing knowledge of the open oceans.

The Wildlife Society works to ensure that wildlife and their habitats are conserved through management actions that take into careful consideration relevant scientific information.
We create opportunities for this to occur by involving professional wildlife managers, disseminating wildlife science, advocating for effective wildlife policy and law, and building the active support of an informed citizenry.
TWS’s mission is to represent and serve the professional community of scientists, managers, educators, technicians, planners, and others who work actively to study, manage, and conserve wildlife and its habitats worldwide.
The products of The Wildlife Society include essential, practical, and objective information for wildlife professionals. We provide research, policy information, and practical tools in print and electronic forms, along with vibrant professional networks that allow solutions to wildlife conservation and management challenges to be anchored in science.

WWF's mission is the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge where we can, we work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems by protecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species; promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources; and promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution.
We are committed to reversing the degradation of our planet's natural environment and to building a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature. We recognize the critical relevance of human numbers, poverty and consumption patterns to meeting these goals.
