Graduate Assistant for Digital Services (Louisiana Sea Grant Project)

Description of Duties: Graduate Assistants in the LSU Libraries receive instruction in the specific and sometimes unique duties relevant to their assigned departments. Duties vary depending upon the needs of the assigned department and will often involve routine but necessary library tasks. Graduate Assistants cannot assume that they will be instructed in every function of their assigned areas. Schedules are set at the beginning of each semester and depend upon the needs of the assigned department.

100% Reports to the Digital Services Librarian. Duties include: preparing and uploading digitized materials selected by Louisiana Sea Grant to the Louisiana Digital Library via CONTENTdm software; organizing digitized images; creating item-level metadata using cataloging standards; developing a project website.

This is a six-month Graduate Assistant position beginning as soon as a student is hired. It requires 20 hours per week for a monthly salary of $1000.
