Library Privileges for Sustaining Members
As a Sustaining Member ($50.00) of the Friends of the LSU Library, you will be entitled to limited Library Circulation Privileges.
Participating Libraries
The temporary Friends' library borrowing card (T-card) will permit undergraduate borrowing privileges for regular circulating materials at the following units of the LSU Libraries:
- Middleton Library
Circulating Material
A T-card will be issued to you at the Circulation Desk in the Middleton Library. Your card will be valid for one calendar year from the day you joined the Friends. An appropriate picture ID (e.g., driver's license) must be presented and the T-card Borrowers' Log signed each time the T-card is used. The Regular Loan Period for circulating materials at the Middleton Library is 28 days. To obtain a T-card, a Visa or MasterCard account number must be on file.
Restricted Circulation
Circulation of restricted materials is limited to LSU faculty and graduate students.
Reserve Material
Items on reserve may be checked out by temporary card holders for two hours only and not at all during exam periods.
Off Campus Database Access
Off campus database access is not available to Friends members.
Interlibrary Services
National interlibrary loan agreements restrict interlibrary loan privileges to the LSU community.
Fee Assessments
As a Library user, you will be subject to all rules and regulations of the Libraries, including overdue fine and lost book fee assessments as follows:
- Overdue book fine: charges are .35 per day per item, to a maximum of $15.00, after which the item is treated as lost
- Lost book fees: Replacement cost of the book, plus a $30.00 processing fee ($5.00 non-refundable)
- Reserve overdue fines: $1.20 per hour if due at a specific time.
