FOOD AND DRINK POLICY FOR MIDDLETON LIBRARY

Our goal in Middleton Library is to provide library materials, services, and an orderly facility to today's library users as well as future library users. To preserve the library collections, equipment, and facilities, library patrons should be careful when consuming food and drink in the library. All drink containers should have lids, and water bottles should be recapped when not in use.

We encourage patrons who consume foods such as pizza, burgers, fries, sandwiches, salads, fast food, etc., to do so only in the library lobby area or in Room 126 near CC’s and the vending machines.
Please put food wrappers and other trash in the nearest waste container and, as a courtesy to others, clean up any spills, so that we can maintain a clean facility.
Exceptions: Food and drinks are NOT allowed in:

  • Music Resources (Room 202),
  • the area behind the desk in Government Documents & Microforms (Room 53),
  • classrooms, or
  • computer labs.

We thank you in advance for helping the library staff to maintain an atmosphere conducive to studying and reading by ensuring that the food and drink policies are implemented. Library users are asked to take a sensible approach in caring for a valuable resource – YOUR LIBRARY!
