What is CQ Researcher?

A database of in-depth, original reports on major and current issues.

Reports include summaries, pro/con viewpoints, charts/graphs, timelines, bibliographies and more.

Reports are written by seasoned journalists. While not considered "scholarly literature," these reports are authoritative.

Go to the Library website:

Click on the Databases tab and select 'CQ Researcher Plus Archive' under 'Frequently Used Databases'

Browsing Reports

Not sure what topic to research?

You can browse reports using the drop-down menu located at the top left of the page.

If you have a general area of interest, hover the mouse over Browse Topics and click on a category to view a list of reports.

You can also click on Browse Topics to reveal the list of categories.

Search results are ordered by relevance, but you can click on a column heading to sort results by:

Citing

The menu bar at the top of the page provides options for citing the full report or specific report sections.

Try it!

1. Search for the report Plagiarism and Cheating and then open it.

2. Click Cite Now! on the menu at the top of the page.

3. Choose a citation style (APA is the default).

4. Copy and paste the citation.

You can also import a citation into a bibliographic management tool. (RefWorks, EndNote, or Zotero) Just click the 'Export citation to' drop down menu and select your program.

Emailing and Saving

Email yourself a link or print the full report or a specific report section using the drop-down menus at the top of the page.

Click the View PDF link to save the report on your computer.
