culture. ARTFL, a cooperative project of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (France) and the University of
Chicago, offers a full-text database of nearly 2,000 works in French dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Included
are works of literature, literary criticism, history, philosophy, and economics.
Now based at the University of Washington, this "is a
unique website where 281 writers, artists, editors and scholars gather to publish and discuss their works".
The site contains pointers to texts, electronic journals, and other internet materials covering 44
interesting collections. It also provides a search gateway to Project Gutenberg, Project Muse, Bartlett's Quotations,
Voice of the Shuttle, and other useful collections.
