Collection ervices: Annual Report
Guidelines for Liaisons Requesting Electronic Resources
- Check LPM 7 (section II, Selection Criteria) to determine if the resource is appropriate for the collection.
- Obtain initial approval to purchase the resource from the CD Coordinator (over $300.00) or AD for Collection Services ($500 or more).
- Complete the Electronic Resource Proposal form. Determine appropriate delivery mechanism (refer to LPM 7, section III, Delivery Mechanisms), and contact vendor for information regarding electronic delivery options, systems requirements, and terms in license agreement (all license agreements are signed by the AD for Collection Services, not the liaison). Proceed to step five for Internet resources on external servers not requiring support from Systems.
- Submit product and vendor contact information to the Server Administrator to determine if Systems has adequate space and resources for LAN, stand alone, or other products requiring support. Systems will contact vendor if further information is required for product delivery. Given all the required information from the selector on the Electronic
Resource Proposal Form, and response from the vendor to any technical
questions, in most cases Library Systems should be able to determine if
the product can be successfully delivered within one business-day.
- Submit Electronic Resource Proposal Form to Acquisitions or Serials Services Department Head.
