Special Collections Call Number Flags
Until further notice, we will be making call number flags for the pieces that we catalog for Special Collections. Piggyback barcodes will also be placed on the flags.
This is the format we will use for most of the pieces:
RARE or LLMVC or UARCHIVES or MCILHENNY or USCW-YP (There are others, but we use these the most.)

The flag will be made with a formatted call number, as shown in the table below. Note: This differs from Symphony format.
If the piece is oversized, or if it is in a special location, such as CAGE,
COMP, FLAT, LSUPR, the size or special location goes on the line
after the location name -- so the suffix in Symphony becomes a prefix on the flag. (See Guide to Call Number Suffixes. (Guide available only to LSU Library Staff.)
