T-Card Holder Regulations


Holders of T-Cards must follow these regulations:

  • VISA or MasterCard account must be on file with LSU Libraries.
  • You will be required to present this T-card and a photo ID each time you wish to check out books. No one else may use this card, and it will be confiscated if an attempt to do so is made.
  • No more than 10 items may be charged to you at any time.
  • The normal circulation period is 28 days. Some items have different circulation periods; the due date will always be stamped in the book.
  • The T-card is not accepted by the Law School and Veterinary Medicine Libraries.
  • Journals and other restricted materials will not circulate to T-card holders.
  • T-card holders are not eligible for Interlibrary Borrowing services, remote electronic database access, library instruction services, etc. The T-card is issued for the purpose of borrowing books from LSU Libraries.
  • Check-out privileges will be suspended any time there are unpaid library fines and assessments. Overdue fines may be paid at the Circulation Desk at the time the books are returned but only between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, or at the Bursar's Office, Thomas Boyd Hall if the fines are billed. T-card IDs with unpaid charges will be automatically blocked when charges are billed and will remain blocked until full payment has been made.
  • In the event that fines are not paid upon the return of the late books your credit card will be charged for the total amount on the fine.
  • There is a $5.00 charge to replace a lost T-card.
  • The LSU Libraries will revoke a temporary card in the event of misuse. Revocation of a temporary card may result in permanent denial of T-card privileges.
