WSJonline Instructions
Searching for articles in Factiva
LSU Libraries subscribes to the Wall Street Journal. Full text is available on line through Factiva. For complete instructions on using Factiva please see this link- http://www.factiva.com/collateral/files/factivacom_insideoutguide_jul2007.pdf
These are simple instructions for searching for articles in the Wall Street Journal. (You can also use this method to browse or search for the many other publications in Factiva. A source list is available on the Factiva home page in "tools" on the top of the page.) The best way to get to Factiva is to go to "indexes and databases" (top of the library page) and scroll to Factiva under "F". You can also search the online catalog for Periodical Title, Wall Street Journal, browse. (This will take you to Factiva, not the Wall Street Journal.)
When you get to Factiva, click the box that says "SOURCE" and type in Wall Street Journal, then click the little arrow to the right of the search box.
You will get several Wall Street Journal results- click on the names of all of the titles that apply-
The selected titles will be added to your search. Be sure to change the date field to include your needed date range, or choose "all dates" if you are unsure. You can then type in the text search box at the top and it will only search the selected sources.
Add terms to your search if you get too many results, or remove terms if you are not getting enough results. The default search is "free text"- you can search for article titles, authors, or keywords.
