POLICY

Library Systems is responsible for handling all computing equipment moves or changes, whether from room to room or building to building. This is necessary for Library Systems staff to maintain required University inventory information for LSU Property Management and for LSU Information Technology Services, as well as to provide appropriate support. These machines are not to be moved by without contacting Library Systems.

Staff using shared machines (i.e., used by more than one individual), such as those in Libraries' classrooms or departmental areas, must not load or change software or configurations without contacting the proper personnel.

All other staff and music, public PCs..........................Library Systems staff

If any student assistants, or graduate assistants, wish to use library staff machines for non-work-related activities, they must request use through their supervisor, who will be responsible for making sure there is a machine available and that any disks used are free of viruses.

PCs will be removed by Library Systems when an employee departs. If the department wants that PC or equivalent reserved for a new employee the supervisor must discuss this with the Manager of Library Systems.
