Subject: Reclassification policy of the LSU Libraries
Purpose: To set forth criteria for reclassification of materials from Dewey to Library of Congress classification
POLICY
The LSU Libraries does not classify new materials in the Dewey Decimal Classification System with the exception of selected Educational Resources materials. The only materials in the general Middleton collection still classed in the Dewey system are housed in compact shelving. In the event that patrons need these materials, they will be reclassified in the Library of Congress Classification System and transferred to the general stacks.
