LOUIS currently provides access to 63,795 full-text electronic resources. These resources constitute approximately 61% of LSU Libraries' access to full-text electronic resources.

UPDATE: For the current fiscal year, member libraries will cover some expenses for LOUIS databases. The following LOUIS databases will not be renewed:

WebFeat / 360 Search - expires Sept. 30, 2010
SPORTDiscus - expires August 31, 2010
OED Online - Oxford English Dictionary - expires August 31, 2010 (LSU Libraries has secured a 30-day extension of online access to the Oxford English Dictionary. Unfortunately, this extension only applies to LSU Libraries and not to all LOUIS libraries.)
CQ Global Researcher - expires December 31, 2010
WorldBook Online - expires August 31, 2010
International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA) - expires August 31, 2010

On Friday, June 25, the LOUIS (Louisiana Library Network) staff received notification from the Board of Regents that 2/3 of the LOUIS budget, the portion from the Board of Regents, is being eliminated. On June 30, the Board agreed to provide $500,000 for LOUIS to honor e-resource contracts for a two month transition period.

This will mean significant cuts to LOUIS services. This includes 72 electronic databases that contain 72,000 electronic journal and book titles. These titles include 34,500 eBooks and 37,455 journals.
