2009 Annual Mid-Winter Meeting

Washington, D.C.

Offically Part of
the SAA Calendar!

The Visual Materials (VM) Section seventh annual mid-winter meeting is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 2009 February 20 - 21, University Park, MD, northeast of the Washington, D.C. metro area.  Save the date!

Now that the rush of the holidays is over and you're filling in your calendars, remember the Visual Materials Section Midwinter meeting will be February 20-21. Laurie Baty is hosting the meeting at her house in University Park, MD, a 40-minute Metro ride from the center of Washington, D.C.

We will be planning the Section’s activities for 2009 and need the membership’s input and involvement. We’re trying to keep the cost down for attendees by providing family style meals at a low price, no registration fee, and plenty of free laughter.

Midwinter is a working meeting open to all Section members who wish to actively participate in section committees or working groups. A list of committees and brief descriptions can be found elsewhere on the VM web site. The goal of the meeting is to develop long-term projects and plan for the annual conference. The meeting is sanctioned by SAA but funding support is not available from SAA or the Section.

Please look over the draft agenda and send me any items you would like added. At the end of this email is a list of nearby hotels. If you have not done so already, please let me know you are coming, so we can have a head count. We look forward to seeing you in February!
