Basic Searching Tips for NMRT Archives Database

A keyword search done from the Basic Search screen works a little differently from one done via the Advanced Search. With a Basic Search, the search engine will take any terms used here and look for them in all fields of all records as well as the full-text of documents where such is available.

To maximize the productiveness of a Basic Search, the operator that has been programmed into the search is "OR". Hence, if multiple terms are placed in the search box, the engine will look for records where any one of those terms is found in any of the fields or in the full-text of the document.

If you wish to do more refined searching or narrow your search, the Advanced Search screen offers a number of options for restricting one's search.
